49ers Fear Jimmy Garoppolo Suffered Torn ACL Against Chiefs

Chiefs will move to 3-0 — and cover

John Lynch and the 49ers are holding their collective breath, as their huge offseason investment has gone down with a what looks like a knee injury after a dirty hit by Chiefs defender Steven Nelson.

Unfortunately, the 49ers should brace for the worst.

NFL Network's James Palmer captured a visibly distraught Garoppolo on the sideline as he was being carted off. Garoppolo took a vicious hit near the sideline nearly immediately after making the cut, and stayed down for an extended period of time before heading to the medical tent.

Non-contact injuries have a history of being long-term problems, but it's still too early to tell.

Palestinian shot dead in new Gaza clashes
A position belonging to the Hamas Islamist group that runs the Gaza Strip was hit, according to witnesses. The soldiers fired back with tear gas and gunshots.

TE Rob Gronkowski nearly traded inside NFC North
At that point, the trade fell apart and the Patriots instead tweaked the star tight end's contract and he remained in New England. Gronkowski, 29, has nine catches for 138 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' first two games this season.

The two individual touchdown passes that culminated in the National Football League record were 12 yards in length, the first and second to Demetrius Harris and Sammy Watkins respectively, and a third pass was caught for 4 yards by Chris Conley within the red zone.

With everyone holding their breath in San Francisco, stay tuned for an update on Garoppolo's health. Unfortunately, the team is fearing the worst, too. "Would be season-ending. MRI tomorrow".

"With Jimmy we're fearing ACL", Shanahan said.

The Kansas City Chiefs' gamble to divest from Alex Smith and hand Patrick Mahomes the reins has been a good one.
