HMD Global is launching a new smartphone on October 4 in London

Nokia 5.1 Plus Launching in India on September 24, Expected to Be Priced Below Rs 15,000

HMD Global made the Nokia 7 Plus official back in February 2018 and just recently, the device won the best "Consumer Smartphone" award from EISA in Europe alongside the Huawei's Honor 10 and P20 Pro. The tweet included a 10-second showing some games being played on a device. That's because the Finnish company is reportedly working on its third X-series device, which will supposedly be called the Nokia X7 in China and Nokia 7.1 Plus elsewhere in the world.

The biggest competitor of the Nokia 6.1 Plus will be another Android One smartphone, Xiaomi Mi A2. The Nokia 9 should receive the Snapdragon processor 845. All of this is backed by a 3060mAh battery, but it lacks support for fast charging. In terms of specifications, it will be the successor to the Nokia 7 Plus from earlier this year.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus features 5.86-inch notched display with 2.5D curved glass that offers HD+ screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. A fingerprint sensor is also present in the centre. On the optics front, it features a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 13-megapixel primary and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. However, with a trust score of 100 per cent, it seems that HMD Global could indeed end up with the 7.1 Plus pretty soon on our shores.

The announcement was made by SV Rajendra Singh Babu, Chairman, Selection Committee for Oscar Award, FFI. Director Amit V Masurkar's Newton was declared India's official entry to the 2018 Oscars.

As per a Pocket Lint report, HMD Global has sent out invites for an event in central London on October 4, where the company could launch Nokia X7.

Another thing worth noting is that the Nokia 5.1 Plus is an Android One handset, which means that it will receive monthly security patches and timely iterative software updates. But again, there could be chances that the company unveils Nokia X7 globally at the event.

The render, which the source claims to be official, seems legit and shares some similarities with numerous previously launched Nokia branded smartphones, especially Nokia X6.
