Pokémon's Game Freak Announces New 'Town' RPG

Such as it stands, though, Town tells the story of a village that is under siege by various monsters. On the surface, it's a pretty ordinary town, besides the fact that it keeps being attacked by huge monsters. From what we gather based on the very, very (very) limited information available about Town at this time, it appears that the game will utilize a kind of Suikoden-like party system. Players will take up arms against invading monsters and strategically select from a variety of battle commands. In order to save your town, you'll need to work together with fellow villagers to fend off the hoard of Monsters, all the while uncovering the secrets of the small town. According to the Nintendo Direct Town, which is a working title and may eventually change, is a Nintendo Switch exclusive planned for release sometime in 2019. Game Freak would then go outside of Nintendo's publishing, working with Sega to release Tembo the Badass Elephant and self-publishing Giga Wrecker on PC.
