Trump Says He'll Yank Bruce Ohr's Security Clearance 'Very Quickly'

Former Intel Chiefs: White House Using Security Clearances As A 'Political Tool'

Democrats accused the president of trying to punish his critics.

All materials, including briefing reports and memos, audio/video presentations, PowerPoint presentations and any other records, used by CIA Director Brennan and/or other CIA officials to brief Senator Reid and/or members of his staff on alleged "collusion" between the Trump presidential campaign and Russian Federation.

The signees included seven former CIA directors, six former CIA deputy directors and two former national intelligence directors, James Clapper and retired Navy Admiral Denny Blair.

In the statement, the officials call the move "unprecedented" and caution against using security clearances as a political tool.

"This action is quite clearly a signal to other former and current officials", the letter says.

McRaven is also famous for his "Make Your Bed" Commencement Address at University of Texas at Austin in 2014.

In the statement released late on Thursday, officials who served under Republican and Democratic officials said they did not necessarily agree with Brennan's harsh criticism of the president, but that security authorizations should be based on national security, not politics.

In his letter, McRaven praised Brennan as "one of the finest public servants I have ever known".

CJ McCollum remains critical of Warriors signing stars: 'It's disgusting'
When asked would he ever join a superteam in the future, McCollum said, "I would never do anything of that nature". By signing with the Warriors, Cousins has guaranteed himself a deep playoff run in the 2019 playoffs.

During an appearance Thursday morning on "Fox & Friends" on the Fox News Channel, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway defended Trump's action.

Earlier this week Washington Post offered a detailed explanation of Ohr's connection to the investigation, led by Robert Mueller, into Russian interference with the 2016 election, and any Americans that may be connected to that interference.

"If you think for a moment that your McCarthy-era tactics will suppress the voices of criticism, you are sadly mistaken", he added.

The president said he does not trust "many of those people on that list" and does not think they are "good people". They should be looking at all the people that got fired by them. "There's no silence. If anything, I'm giving them a bigger voice", he said.

Copies of any reports, memoranda or other materials provided to Senator Reid and/or members of his staff by the Central Intelligence Agency relating to alleged Russian "collusion" or cooperation between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia.

"Mr. Brennan's lying and recent conduct characterized by increasingly frenzied commentary is wholly inconsistent with access to the nations' most closely held secrets", Trump said. He said the only question now is whether the collusion that took place "constituted criminally liable conspiracy". Bottom row from left are former FBI Deputy Assistant Director Peter Strzok, former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and former National Intelligence Director James Clapper.

Writing in The Washington Post, William H. McRaven said he would "consider it an honour" if Mr Trump would revoke his clearance, as well. Many people don't even know who he is, and now he's a bigger voice, and that's okay with me, because I like taking on voices like that.
