Peta's Forecast - Tracking evening rain and storms

Hot, Humid, Chance of Storms Monday

A heavy downpour or thunderstorm is possible but severe weather is not expected. This will provide more widespread rain chances across our region both of those days.

Today: Partly to mostly sunny, hot, humid.

Rain showers and storms are expected to arrive to start the work week. There will also be the chance of a stray shower or T'storm in the afternoon with a little instability building from the heating of the day. Tonight, a very weak disturbance will be rolling through which could touch off a few isolated showers or T'storms in the evening. Hail and gusty winds will be the main threats. Temperatures should reach the mid 80s before storms fire.

Hail at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado kills 2 animals
Tennis ball-sized hail killed two animals at a Colorado zoo on Monday, as well as damaged cars and injured a number of people. The storm knocked out power to almost 2,000 customers in the area, and heavy rain and debris forced the closure of U.S.

Monday morning's commute can be soggy with showers and storms working onshore around 5 o'clock until 9 o'clock.

The weekend is looking increasingly pessimistic. Storms will clear after midnight, leaving Colorado with partly cloudy skies overnight. A low pressure center will get cutoff from the larger flow just to our southwest.

Still doesn't look like a washout for Saturday and Sunday, but rain chances will lurk. Otherwise, clouds will slow down warming and highs will reach the upper 80s.
