Katie Taylor To Face Cindy Serrano On Oct 6 In Chicago

Katie Taylor hold the WBA and IBF lightweight titles

Matchroom has confirmed that the 2012 Olympic gold medallist will defend her WBA and IBF lightweight titles in Chicago on October 6 next against Puerto Rica-born Cindy Serrano, the current WBO World featherweight champion.

Taylor has stormed through the pro ranks since her transition from amateur boxing two years ago and will fight against Kimberly Connor at London's O2 Arena on the 28 July.

Taylor, 32, added the IBF title to her WBA belt in April by earning a unanimous points win over Argentina's Victoria Noelia Bustos which extended her run of victories to nine fights.

She could conceivably lose the titles before the scheduled fight in the United States, but is highly fancied to come through on the undercard to Dillian Whyte and Joseph Parker's heavyweight showdown.
