Brazilian worldwide Alisson is expected to sign for Liverpool on a five-year deal worth €75 million, a world record for a goalkeeper, media reports suggested on Wednesday (Jul 18).

Alisson has been spending time with his family on holiday since Brazil exited the World Cup but will now deal with his business with Liverpool before returning for the rest of his short summer break.

Chelsea have also been linked with the 25-year-old, who began his career with Internacional before moving to Roma two years ago. I really thought the idea of moving the transfer window was good but only if we do it all together. Now it's time to see if the team is done making moves or if it's time to pursue even more talent.

Liverpool are reported to have offered £62m for Alisson's services. It's obvious to everyone - look at what happened in the Champions League final.

The current Reds number one made two costly errors as Klopp's charges lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in May.

Discussions between the player and the club are underway, although it is understood that Alisson was already receptive to the move to Liverpool.

The news today is that Liverpool have upped their bid to £66.8 million to meet AS Roma's valuation of the player. She was clearly delighted her husband was signing for Liverpool and her excitement for the club and the city can only have helped Natalia Loewe Becker make her decision. But, Chelsea could have a chance of swooping him away, if their bid, which is higher than the Reds' is accepted first.
