MCLaren 720S

The driver had been speeding in the McLaren 720S when he crashed it in Great Falls, Virginia, on Saturday.

Police say a northern Virginia driver has totaled a newly purchased $300,000 sports auto by driving too fast and hitting a tree. The Facebook post said the $300,000 import had just been purchased on Friday.

The driver came out of the wreckage injured, but none of those injuries are life-threatening.

The Washington Post, citing police, reported that the crash unfolded at around 7:45 a.m. Saturday in Great Falls, approximately 15 miles northwest of Washington D.C.
