Giant spider alert after pots are dumped and two tarantulas leg it

Left holding the baby One of the little spiders found in the pots

Some weird person abandoned a batch of massive imported spiders in a auto park in Derbyshire, with onlookers saying the babies remained in the pots to be captured - but warning that the adult pair "scuttled away". They usually live in rainforest, eating insects, lizards, mice and small birds.

Well, if that doesn't have you outside setting your garden on fire, here's more - while they have found the babies, the authorities think that two adult spiders could still be on the loose somewhere.

She added: "The abandoned spiders would have died in the pots had they not been found".

There was no sign of the mummy and daddy spider at the scene.

The Brazilian spiders are thought to have fled when a auto hit their containers which had been left in a vehicle park.

Kristy Ludlam, an RSPCA inspector, said an understandably shaken woman had found the baby spiders in Bateman's Yard livery stable's auto park in Somercotes last Thursday and had contacted the RSPCA as she is terrified of them.

RSPCA inspector Kristy Ludlam said: 'The woman who contacted us was shaken as she is terrified of spiders. It is assumed they escaped'.

Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin meet for summit in Helsinki
For the next hour-and-a-half, Trump and Putin are scheduled to hold one-on-one discussions, with only interpreters at their side. He called on Moscow and Washington to warm a period of frosty relations, largely because of the sizes of their nuclear arsenals.

According to the report, the pots were labeled "Brazilian pink bird-eating spiders, " a reference to the Brazilian Salmon Pink Birdeater, one of the largest tarantulas in the world. "Two of the workers ran around the kennels screaming when they heard the news", said Sarah Towndrow, owner of Birchwood boarding kennels and cattery in Birchwood Lane, near where the pots were found.

"We are getting a vet out so they can take a good look and advise us on what we need to do".

Ludlam said the RSPCA is keeping the empty pots warm in case the tarantula eggs inside them hatch.

"We are concerned that someone would abandon spiders like this". We're also going to be searching the area to make sure they're not here.

It's the stuff of nightmares: giant bird-eating tarantulas the size of dinner plates could be on the loose in an English village.

The act of releasing spiders into the wild is actually illegal, under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, as they are a non-native species. Let's hope that they can find the culprit, or the spiders, VERY soon.
