Severe thunderstorm watch issued

Toronto and parts of the Greater Toronto Area are bracing for hit a strong summer storm as of a string of scattered showers move through the region.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for London-Middlesex, Chatham-Kent, Leamington, and Windsor-Essex.

To beat the heat, Environment Canada is recommending Calgarians consider rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day, spend time in cool indoor areas and drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic or non-caffeinated drinks to stay hydrated.

Following Environment Canada issuing a heat warning for Monday, the agency says conditions are now favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms.

The weather watch should diminish by the evening.

Wednesday will see a high of 25 C and a high of 27 C is in the forecast for Thursday and Friday.
