Theresa May promises orderly Brexit amid more resignations, confidence vote calls
With numbers tight in the Commons, the prime minister - who relies on Northern Ireland's DUP to win key votes - would be vulnerable to any rebellion among Eurosceptic MPs as she tries to pass key laws needed for Brexit preparation.
The tánaiste made his comments after the resignations this week of David Davis, the Brexit secretary, Boris Johnson, the foreign secretary, and two Tory vice-chairmen.
More than 1,000 readers took part in an online survey, answering questions on the Prime Minister's leadership and the prospects for the UK's departure from the EU.
Tuesday started as a "business as usual" for May as she chaired the first meeting of her new look cabinet following her reshuffle prompted by the resignations.
"I get along with her very well, I have a very good relationship", he said.
The other cabinet member who quit, Brexit minister David Davis, has said it was impossible for him to defend Ms May's plans that would see the United Kingdom retaining close trade ties to the European Union and subject to certain regulatory mechanisms.
'The direct consequences of that will be Prime Minister Corbyn'.
Boris Johnson resigned from his position on Monday.
"Once David Davis and Boris Johnson set out their resignation reasons, it became clear that Brexit and Chequers were not the same thing".

Thailand turning cave into museum about soccer team's rescue
One by one, the dozen teenage soccer team members and their coach were escorted out of the cave, alive. Four boys and their 25-year-old football coach "will be extracted on Tuesday".
Conservative lawmaker Michael Fallon, an ally of May, dismissed Johnson's "Brexit dream" rallying cry.
Solicitor General Robert Buckland said: "She talked about Corbyn, she talked about the alternative which is delivering the country to the sort of government that I don't think people have voted for and certainly any Conservative voter would be repelled by".
Challenged directly by the Scottish Tory MP Paul Masterton over whether he would "seriously walk through the lobbies with a handful of hard-line Eurosceptic Tories, vote down the deal and cause us to crash out without any deal at all", Mr Streeting replied: "The Labour Party will be constructive, but this isn't good enough".
Other pro-Brexit Cabinet ministers said they supported May and would not resign.
Ministers also stepped up preparations for a "no deal" on Brexit as Brussels will be reluctant to consider any plan which would risk splitting the single market.
"And it would be a split coming from the top, not from the members of the Conservative Party across the country".
The Mansfield MP wrote: 'Being tied to European Union regulations and the European Union tying our hands when seeking to make new trade agreements will be the worst of all worlds.
May says the plan will deliver frictionless trade with Europe and avoid a hard border between the UK's Northern Ireland and European Union member Ireland.
One disgruntled Tory MP even declined an invitation to watch England's World Cup semi-final clash with Croatia at 10 Downing Street because of his unhappiness with Mrs May's Brexit plans. I can only regret that the idea of Brexit has not left with Davis and Johnson. The British government is due to publish a detailed version of the plans on Thursday.
