The film rights to Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld'sImage Comics character Prophet have been picked up by Studio 8, The Wrap reports. The character is, as the report states, "pitched as very much the anti-Captain America across the board" and - instead of being an All-American superhero - he's "a ruthless berserker that must find his humanity".
After his debut with the Youngblood series, Prophet spun into his own line of comics, eventually moving through three full story cycles in the 1990s before re-emerging in 2012 for a new, eponymous comic and its successor, Prophet: Earth War, which Image released in 2016. Liefeld has created over 150 characters, including Marvel's Deadpool, Cable, Domino, and the X-Force.
