Diane Lane to topline FX’s adaptation of ‘Y: The Last Man’

YORICK, HERO, AGENT 355, More Cast in FX's Y: THE LAST MAN

Based on Vaughan and Guerra's comics, which detailed an apocalyptic contagion that decimated all of the male mammalians across the planet save one, Y: The Last Man is beginning to sound like a pretty faithful adapation - at least in terms of the cast's characters descriptions.

As for Yorick, the titular last man who is possibly the last surviving male following a global plague that attacks the Y chromosome, the honor goes to Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk, The Killing of a Sacred Deer).

This man's career is going from strength to strength.

.

FX announced Wednesday that she'll play Senator Jennifer Brown in the highly anticipated adaptation of the acclaimed comic series Y: The Last Man.

The long-gestating project - which landed a formal pilot order in April after almost three years of development - takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a cataclysmic event has decimated every male mammal, save for one lone human (and his pet monkey). The new world order of women will explore gender, race, class and survival.

Lane, 53, will play Sen. She is also the mother of protagonist Yorick Brown and his sister, Hero.
