Riyad Mahrez signs for Man City? Leaked photo suggests Leicester done deal

The couple have a young child together

Premier League champions Manchester City have sealed a £60m deal with Leicester for Algeria's Riyad Mahrez, with the Foxes ace set to undergo a medical analysis with the next two days, reports suggest.

According to the Daily Mail, the Algerian worldwide is set for a medical at Manchester City between Sunday and Tuesday.

Mahrez was the subject of four failed bids from Manchester City in the mid-season transfer window and, after a move to the Etihad did not materialise he missed training for over a week, with the Algeria worldwide forced to deny going AWOL.

City are likely to spend more money before now and the transfer window closing on August 9.

The 27-year-old Algerian is the Blues' first signing since they won the Premier League title. Leicester said in a statement the deal was a "club-record fee".

And Txiki Begiristain, City's director of football, says he is delighted to have finally captured one of the best players in the English top flight.

'Watching them from afar has been a pleasure.

Mahrez handed in a transfer request but stayed at the club, scoring 12 league goals in 36 games as the Foxes finished ninth in the Premier League.

"Riyad is a hugely talented player".

'I think we can be successful over the coming years and I believe my own game can develop under Pep's management'.

Mahrez's experience of winning the Premier League will certainly have left him hungry for more success, and he now has the chance to achieve that once more under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola. "We're sure he will bring additional attacking quality to our squad". He will be welcomed back to King Power Stadium as both an opposition player and a friend of the Club.
