England fans 'dare to dream' after World Cup win over Sweden

Fans enjoyed beaches in Samara yesterday with temperatures in the high 20s

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler understands why so many in the current England squad are huge fans of manager Gareth Southgate.

The last time England reached the last four of a World Cup, their heroes in the win over Sweden - goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and goalscorers Harry Maguire and Dele Alli - weren't even born.

"The dream goes on!"

And Fowler is a fan of what Southgate has achieved with the national team so far.

"It might do England a favour though if they are a bit exhausted when they kick off on the match later".

Russian Federation coach Stanislav Cherchesov lamented that fortune had not smiled on his side. "My guys feel like conscript soldiers whose term of service was over just when they were preparing to go into battle".

But Modric said they would be ready to face Southgate's men.
