Dozens hurt, 3 critical, after storm slams North Dakota city

North Dakota RV Park Hit by Severe Storm, Injuring Dozens

Dozens were injured in a small North Dakota town after a severe storm packing wind gusts up to 59 miles per hour hit an RV Park causing "substantial damage" and "widespread destruction", including flipped and shredded RVs overnight Monday. The department notes the family of the child has asked that his name be withheld for now.

Early reports indicate 28 people so far have been treated at the Watford City hospital, and at least three have been lifeflighted to other facilities. "It felt like we were weightless", Clifford Bowden, who was in his vehicle at the Prairie View RV Park when the twister hit, told the Associated Press.

More than two dozen people were hurt when the tornado went through the Prairie View RV Park in Watford City shortly after midnight Tuesday. He says the storm "devastated an entire community".

Residents were being allowed into the park Tuesday afternoon. Cleanup operations were scheduled to resume Wednesday. 9 people suffered critical injuries and were hospitalized in Watford City, Williston, Minot, Bismarck and Fargo.

He hastened to add, though, that this signal should come in the form of a renewed commitment to free trade, not a blunt warning to Trump.

'It's a tornado scene, ' Schwartzenberger said. He says his house about half a mile from the park has some shingle and siding damage from the storm.

"My dog was with me and the next thing you knew the storm picked up my camper and slammed it on the ground. Certainly Lt. Governor and myself will be looking into what it takes to make sure that we have state of the art capability", said Burgum.

About 150 people, including Bowden, are staying at the Watford City Civic Center where the Red Cross has set up a temporary shelter.

Sanford said the extent of the damage is 'devastating and mind-boggling, with RVs utterly flattened and destroyed'.
