Woolworths Australia ban on single-use plastic bags come into force

FYI Woolworths National Ban On Single Use Plastic Bags Begins From Today

"We are proud to say that from now on, single-use plastic bags are gone from our stores, for good".

Woolies introduces its ban on Wednesday, when the retail giant's supermarkets, BWS, Metro and petrol outlets will stop offering free disposable bags to shoppers in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

Woolworths is, from today, implementing their much-vaunted ban on all plastic shopping bags in a move that affects all the chain's stores across the nation.

The bags were already banned under state legislation in Tasmania, South Australia, the ACT and Northern Territory.

Coles has previously committed to removing single-use plastic bags from July 1st onwards.

Both supermarkets have also committed to reducing the amount of cling wrap used on fresh products moving forward, which includes fresh fruit and vegetables.

Reusable plastic bags will be a necessity on your next shopping trip to Woolies.

THE union representing retail workers welcomes Woolworths' decision to phase out single use plastic bags, but reminds shoppers to remain respectful as part of it's "Don't Bag Retail Staff" campaign.

The plastic bag is almost extinct in Australia.

World Health Organization Releases Disease Classification
It certainly looks like the disorder is being described by people who are not entirely familiar with video games. Many of people on social media have said how stupid this is to have an addiction for gaming.

SDA National Secretary Gerard Dwyer said customers should be prepared for the new bag rules.

"While we understand that some customers may be frustrated by this change, there is no excuse for abusive or violent behaviour towards retail staff", Mr Dwyer said.

"Retail workers should not have to bear the brunt of any abusive behaviour, just for following the new rules".

But not everyone is happy with the ban - with a recent survey from Canstar Blue showing one in five Australians oppose the ban and half of us have been stockpiling.

"Yes, there are some that don't scan accurately because they're trying to take something, but there's another group of customers - and I count myself among them - who generally get confused on what is a gourmet tomato versus a truss tomato, so we've got to also make it easier for our customers to use the self-service check-outs".
