Jim Jones Arrested After Car Chase, Caught With Guns & Pills

Rapper Jim Jones busted for drug gun possession after Georgia police chase

The New York rapper was arrested in Coweta County, Georgia, this week on charges of drug and gun possession.

WSB-TV reports the Coweta County authorities spied a gray Mercedes SUV heading south on I-85, which is fine, but it allegedly drifted into the left hand emergency lane multiple times.

In the report, sheriff's deputies said when they tried to pull the auto over, the driver sped off, and deputies gave chase.

Jones, who's been seen on Love & Hip Hop: New York, was subsequently arrested in connection with possession of firearm during the commission of a crime, narcotics possession, marijuana possession and theft by receiving stolen property - all felonies, the Times-Herald reported. The auto would hit a deputy's vehicle before finally stopping. When police got of the auto, the SUV pulled off. According to the police report, 23 Oxycodone pills, a.25 caliber pistol, which was loaded, marijuana, a Ruger handgun (which was reportedly stoled) were found in a backpack in the backseat. One of the guns found was reportedly stolen.

Jones reportedly told police that it was "just petty cash".

We're told Jones and three others were in the auto. He also denied knowledge of the firearms and advised he has a prescription for the pills, although he didn't have it with him.

Miles, who was driving, was charged in connection with fleeing/attempting to elude police, aggravated assault, aggressive driving and other drug charges, according to the paper.

Jones is a hip-hop recording artist from the Bronx and an original member of the hip-hop collective The Diplomats.

Jim Jones is now out on $7,000 bail.
