F1: Daniel Ricciardo gets huge offer to join McLaren

Daniel Ricciardo could more than triple salary as rival F1 team McLaren swoops: report

Daniel Ricciardo admitted to reporters in Le Castellet this morning that he would like to have made his decision on who he will race for next season by the summer break, which gets underway at the end of next month.

With Red Bull switching to Honda power units and an unconfirmed offer coming from McLaren, there is fresh speculation on how the Monaco race victor will handle his next move in Formula 1. However, Red Bull still seems to be the most likely option as Ferrari has already committed to Sebastian Vettel until 2020 and Lewis Hamilton is expected to renew his contract with Mercedes in the coming weeks.

The Red Bull driver has been the subject of a $20-million per year offer by McLaren.

"I'll be honest, everyone is talking about Mercedes and Ferrari as potential places for me to go, but I'm aware there is going to be interest from other teams and McLaren is probably one of them".

"If he does go, they probably want a more experienced driver to come in". Obviously, Austria next week and then it's Silverstone, two home Grands Prix, so we'll see what happens. "Nothing really to comment on that". For me personally, it would be nice to at least go on the summer break knowing what I'm doing so I can enjoy the summer break. "Probably more because what Lewis was able to do with Mercedes".

"If you're saying those two teams [McLaren and Renault], they are not quite in that position yet". "I haven't been presented anything which says that. I think that also is very good".

"Will he be concerned about a Red Bull-Honda, if indeed they go that way?" "Whether he fluked it. he says that he really knew it was going to happen, I don't know". McLaren and Renault aren't there today but maybe they will be there in a year or three years time.

She warned that Collard's denying responsibility and placing the blame on Williams could be a form of gaslighting. Women's Aid says there are "clear warning signs in Adam's behaviour" and has warned about "emotional abuse".

"I'd like to wrap it up before the summer break so that I'm not constantly answering the phone", said Ricciardo.

Former world champion Jenson Button previously said Ricciardo should move to Ferrari, while the Aussie himself later cast aside rumours he was considering joining the Italian team.

Ricciardo's contract expires at the end of the year, but he is in a great position.

Helmut Marko, head of Red Bull's driver development program, has labeled Ricciardo as the "king of the market" and also says that McLaren "offers him more every week," but Ricciardo himself has played the news down by joking, "that's not enough". The Australian said he was aware a switch to Honda was a "possibility" and now that it's been confirmed, he's going " to try and understand a bit more about it" and "keep trying to putting the pieces together to see if it's a good move".

"Renault has come a pretty long way this year".

"Everyone is making speculation at the moment", the latter, who drives for Toro Rosso, said in France. They are both on the up.
