ABC Greenlights Roseanne Spinoff The Connors

ABC to bring back ‘Roseanne’ without Barr after show’s star booted for racist tweet

After seemingly endless speculation about the future of a ROSEANNE show without star Roseanne Barr, ABC has made it official: a spinoff show now titled THE CONNERS has received a 10-episode order at the network, with Barr not returning.

The New York Times reported Thursday that Roseanne Barr reached a settlement with ABC, which will exempt the network from having to pay Barr for the new spin-off.

"I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from 'Roseanne, ' she said, adding, "I wish the best for everyone involved".

Roseanne, the creator and star of the original sitcom and the 2018 reboot, will reportedly have no financial or creative involvement with the show after she was sacked over a racist tweet directed at former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, in which she referred to her as an "ape".

How Barr's character, the family matriarch, will be erased from their lives was left unexplained for now by ABC.

We're still not sure how Barr's character will be written off the show, but ABC describes it as "a sudden turn of events".

Volvo wants 25 percent recycled plastic in its cars by 2025
In 2017, the company announced an industry-leading commitment to electrify all new Volvo cars launched after 2019. The special XC60 was revealed at the Ocean Summit during the Gothenburg Volvo Ocean Race stopover.

In a joint statement, the cast expressed support for the project.

After getting the chance last season to tell stories about challenges facing working-class family, they're glad to "continue to share those stories through love and laughter", the actors said. ABC announced that the series had been canceled due to the post, and nearly immediately speculation began that a spinoff could be a possibility.

The new show was ordered from producer Werner Entertainment without a pilot episode, the typical basis for a series to be greenlit.

Roseanne Barr has posted her first photo since the announcement that The Conners has been given a greenlight from ABC.

Word is that the returning cast members all signed new one-year contracts to appear on the new show and that the writing-producing team set for the new season of ROSEANNE would be working on THE CONNERS.
