New 'Time' magazine cover shows Trump looking down at crying migrant child

Donald Trump And Immigrant Girl Meet Face To Face On Time Cover

The debate over the Trump administration's immigration policy is still simmering, and the blowback continues to hit Trump - this time in the form of yet another Time magazine cover.

"For the first 240 years of USA history, at least, our most revered chief executives reliably articulated a set of high-minded, humanist values that bound together a diverse nation by naming what we aspired to: democracy, humanity, equality", TIME's Karl Vick wrote in the cover story that goes along with the photo.

The images of children being separated from their parents and the uproar that has followed has been startling.

The photo of the migrant-captured by John Moore-is of a two-year-old Honduran girl crying for her mother, who was reportedly taken to a detention facility in McAllen, Texas.

France vs. Australia Match and Team Analysis
Australia's goal in Kazan came from the penalty spot after Samuel Umtiti's freaky decision to handball in the box. Otherwise, the Socceroos were restricted to a clutch of half-chances.

The photographer who snapped the now-iconic shot of the little Honduran girl told Time about the scene. It was one of the most heartbreaking he's seen in years of photographing the border, he said.

"As a father myself, it was very hard for me to see these families detained, knowing that they would soon be split up", Moore told Getty's blog Foto. "But I couldn't." The editors of Time recognized the power behind the image and made a decision to use it in their latest cover.

On Wednesday, President Trump signed an executive order that reverses his administration's policy of separating children from their detained parents at the border. Children can not follow their family members or guardians into custody, so U.S. guidelines mandate that those children be separated - often from their parents.
