San Antonio Spurs forward Rudy Gay opts to test free agent market

The forward has chose to opt out of his player option worth $8.8 million with the Spurs next season, ESPN.com reported .

During his lone season in San Antonio, Gay served in a reserve capacity for the first time in his 11-year National Basketball Association career.

Rudy Gay is expected to be an unrestricted free agent.
