Teen At Country Music Fest Has Head Rescued From Tailpipe

Facebook holding the sawed off exhaust pipe alongside the truck owner Tom Wold

A teenage girl somehow got her head trapped inside a pickup truck's oversize tailpipe at a country music festival in Minnesota over the weekend, police say.

She took to Facebook, sharing a picture holding the exhaust pipe, with the caption: "Yeah I'm the tail pipe girl, watchu know about it?"

A five-second video of rescuers working to free the teenager quickly went viral after being posted on Facebook the following day.

In a tell-all piece, she told Stephen Wiblemo what went through her head before she jammed it into the pipe.

"I did not know him, but everyone who was around me knew him", she told the paper. "Don't worry about it",' she said. "It did fit, but it didn't want to come back out".

"(I was) kind of confused because I didn't know what was going on, because I couldn't see around me", she said, "But I trusted everyone who was around that I knew to get me out safely".

Medics checked her over, but she was fine.

KTVB reports the McLeod County Sheriff's Department said the woman was escorted from the Winstock Music Festival for underage drinking after she became unstuck.

One person she said was surprisingly kind was Tom Wold of Darwin, the owner of the truck.

We also learned that this Darwin - that's Darwin Minnesota, not Darwin NT - lays claim to the world's largest ball of twine, which is housed in a gazebo.
