Target takes heat for 'Baby Daddy' Father's Day cards

Target Removes 'Baby Daddy' Father's Day Cards After Social Media Reads Them For Filth

"Really!?!? This was the only Father's Day card that featured a black couple!" she wrote. "It's not sweet or nice. We have notified our store merchandisers to remove the card from the shelves and apologize for any offense we've caused".

Takeisha Saunders was so angry about a greeting card she found at Target last month that she posted a photo of it on her Facebook page. "It's a term used to describe a deadbeat or absent parent", she wrote. Said Target, "It's never our intention to offend our guests with the merchandise we provide".

The card features the words "Baby Daddy" on the front, written over an African-American couple.

So apparently Target and other stores are selling "Baby Daddy" cards for Father's Day.

Target has since responded saying the company did not mean to offend anyone and appreciates the feedback.

Facebook user Takeisha Saunders said: 'You CANNOT be serious Target!

However, not all Target shoppers were as angered by the retailer's controversial "Baby Daddy" cards, with some appearing to find them more amusing than offensive.

Target responded to customers' concerns in a Wednesday morning tweet, saying it never meant to offend shoppers.

"I understand Target did not make the cards", said Saunders.

But Saunders quickly explained that the other names weren't as prevalent as baby daddy.

According to the Kansas City Star, the card is not exclusive to Target. Thanks for posting the inside I didn't read it'.
