Serena should be ready for Wimbledon, says Mouratoglou

Patrick Mouratoglou gave an update on the 23-time Grand Slam victor Saturday on BBC Radio 5 live.

"'She's been working for a year, but those weeks just before Roland Garros was kind of a sprint where she gave everything", Mouratoglou explained in an interview to Omnisport. "She should be ready for Wimbledon".

Roland Garros was the first Grand Slam event Williams had entered since she returned to tennis after giving birth to her first child in September 2017. She said she could no longer play in the tournament because she was unable to serve.

He also said how impressed he was with Williams and that he expects her to be able to go deep at SW19.

Patrick Mouratoglou revealed that Serena Williams had some high ambitions heading into the French Open.

"I think so." Mouratoglou replied when asked about whether Williams could challenge at Wimbledon.

A reaction to an article in the print edition of the Swiss newspaper le Nouvelliste, which has a photograph of the tennis star in her latest tennis costume and the headline: Tennis: Serena Williams, a real lack of taste, has gone viral on Facebook.

"Plus at Wimbledon she will have the small advantage because she has the serve, which can take her out of bad situations".
