The earlier record of 229 not out in the name former Australian captain Belinda was set when Amelia was not even born.

Kerr, who had only scored 174 runs in her career previously with a highest ODI score of 30, was promoted to open.

En route her record-shattering innings, Kerr stitched a 295-run partnership for the second wicket with fellow spinner Leigh Kasperek (113) which is now the second highest partnership in women's ODIs, only behind Deepti Sharma and Punam Raut's 320 against Ireland in May 2017.

Kerr notched up her 200 off the 134th delivery she faced with a boundary in the 46th over.

Thanks to Kerr's fantastic innings New Zealand posted a mammoth total of 440/3 against Ireland. She finished with 232 off just 145 balls that included 31 boundaries and a couple of sixes.

Kerr became the second woman to score a ODI double century while also becoming the youngest cricketer ever to score an worldwide double century, breaking a record held by Pakistan men's great Javed Miandad.
