Breakfast lovers across the United States reacted in outrage, even prompting IHOb's newest rivals, including Burger King and Wendy's, to taunt the American breakfast chain.

The company is temporarily changing its name to International House of Burgers.

Last week, IHOP, the International House of Pancakes, announced it would change its name to "IHOb," flipping the "P" to a "b".

Haley added that "we've pancaked pancakes for 60 years now so it's the flawless time to start burgerin" burgers, and we're kicking it off by flipping the "p" in IHOP to a "b' for burgers". The company has also been sharing more photos and tweets about their pancakes.

Wendy's threw some shade as well, responding to a user who asked if the chain felt threatened by IHOP's new burgers.

The fast-food giant changed its logo in its Facebook and Twitter profile photos on Tuesday (June 12) from Burger King to Pancake King, even editing the logo to reflect the words sandwiched between pancakes instead of burger buns. BK appropriated the tag line from a recent Taylor Swift hit: "Sorry, old Burger King can't come to the phone now". Born too early to explore the universe.

Customers aren't the only ones making light of IHOP's new "Ultimate Steakburger" announcement - a good chunk of the fast-food industry is having fun at their expense, as well.

IHOP doesn't seem to mind the mockery much.

"If we have other people in the world of burgers commenting on our burgers, it can only help", IHOP's president, Darren Rebelez, told Business Insider on Monday.
