Jack Dorsey, Twitter's CEO, blasted for patronizing Chick-fil-A

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was blasted on his own social media platform after revealing he had eaten at Chick-fil-A.

On Saturday, Dorsey posted a photo on Twitter showing he had saved 10 percent on a $31.58 order at the popular fast-food chain.

He was quickly reminded of the questionable nature of promoting Chick-fil-A during Pride Month.

"This is an interesting company to boost during Pride month, Jack", tweeted former CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien, noting June is the month designated to celebrate LGBT communities around the world.

Users were quick to criticize Dorsey's patronage of the restaurant whose CEO famously made comments that were interpreted as homophobic in 2012, sparking nationwide protests. "You're right. Completely forgot about their background", he said.

North Korea's Kim lands in Singapore ahead of summit with Trump
Trump said "we've got a very interesting meeting in particular tomorrow, and I think things can work out very nicely". The secretary of state has traveled to Pyongyang twice to meet with Kim and will participate in the Singapore talks.

As the backlash to the backlash kicked into gear Dorsey's reference to Chick-fil-A's "background" prompted people to ask him to clarify his remarks and also to share news stories about the restaurant opening its doors to feed people who were donating blood following the Orlando nightclub shooting.

"Please delete this or follow up with how much free advertising you're going to give GLAAD", wrote another user, referring to the LGBTQ organization.

The fast food chain came under scrutiny in 2012 after CEO Dan T. Cathy - who's also son of its late founder - expressed his disapproval of same-sex marriage.

Michael Kell added: "You must love the taste of bigotry!"

None of the chain's more than 2,200 restaurants are open on that day to allow employees a day of rest.
