Cops scrambled to the shooting in Dallas

At least five people were wounded, including a pregnant woman whose baby was delivered by emergency cesarean section, when a moped-riding gunman opened fire on a crowded football field in Dallas and people fired back, police said.

Dallas PD says the shooting happened around 9:30 the Juanita Craft Recreation Center.

Citing witnesses, a man "walked up to the field then got on a moped and drove to the middle of the field when he opened fire on the crowd", the statement reads.

The shooting came after a game between athletes from two Dallas neighborhoods had finished. They started shooting from every angle.

A second woman was shot in the head, according to FOX 4, and reportedly was hospitalized in serious condition. Before she was taken to the hospital, police applied a special bandage designed for chest wounds.

The baby is alive while the mother is now in critical condition in hospital, according to social media. Police arrived at the scene and applied tourniquets to the shooting victims. Police have been talking to witnesses and reviewing video that people recorded with their cellphones to try to identify the suspects. Out of a crowd of hundreds, he says only a few people returned to the scene to give police information about the suspects.

The extent of the victims' injuries were not immediately known.

At this point, police said it's unclear whether any of the victims were deliberately targeted or simply caught in the crossfire.

It's unclear what the motive of the shooting is at this time.
