Cavs Player Called Danny Ainge 'A [Expletive] Thief' This Season

LeBron James De Andre Jordan and Tristan Thompson

Their last hope at salvaging a victory in last summer's Kyrie Irving trade tumbled away when, for once, the Ping-Pong balls didn't favor Cleveland.

"Danny Ainge is a f--g thief", an anonymous player reportedly said during a rough stretch of play in the winter, according to Jason Lloyd of The Athletic. While the TD Garden crowd roared in anticipation of Game 2, there was nothing really for team officials to celebrate. Although Irving has not played this postseason after he underwent knee surgery over a month ago, the Cavs have virtually nothing left to show for dealing him. Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder, the two key players the Cavs got in the deal, are no longer with the team.

Crowder was not the roleplayer whose antagonist demeanor and pesky defense gave Cleveland the boost it did in Boston.

The Cavaliers essentially traded Irving and their own first round pick for Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood, Larry Nance, Ante Zizic and the No. 8 pick. Cleveland is down 0-2 in its series with Boston (and Irving isn't even playing!).

The aforementioned Brooklyn pick was also revealed to be the No. 8 overall pick in June's upcoming draft as a result of last night's Draft Lottery, which saw the Cavs come within one number of sneaking into the top three.
