OIC to hold emergency meeting over Palestine in Istanbul
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against Palestinian civilians, which led to the martyrdom of more than 52 and the injuries to about 2,000 people during peaceful protests.
Turkey announced its decision to organise an extraordinary summit of the OIC on Friday in Istanbul.
Serving as the OIC term president, Turkey had initiated an extraordinary summit in Istanbul in December 2017 in a bid to protest the U.S. decision to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Turkey has called for an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Turkish government spokesman Bekir Bozdag said.
Erdoğan said the global community should speak out for Palestinians' suffering and called for a firm and common stance by the OIC.

Separately, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed on Tuesday that a planned summit this week of the world's main pan-Islamic body would send a "strong message" after Israeli forces killed dozens of Palestinians along the Gaza border.
The summit declared East Jerusalem - which the worldwide community regards as annexed by Israel - "as the capital of the State of Palestine" and urged the world to follow suit.
He stressed that Turkey, as before, will support Palestine.
Ankara has reacted with fury to the killing of at least 61 Palestinians in Gaza on the same day as the USA formally moved its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv in defiance of global outrage.
Erdogan had phone conversations with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas late May 14 in order to discuss recent developments in the region.
