Kensington Palace Reportedly Blindsided as Meghan Markle's Dad Withdraws From Wedding

GettyMeghan Markle The Queen will talk to Thomas Markle Sr about royal protocol it is said

According to TMZ, Kensington Palace was completely taken aback by the decision, as the palace had reportedly made elaborate plans for Thomas including a security detail, accommodations and access to various events.

"I hate the idea of missing one of the greatest moments in history and walking my daughter down the aisle", Mr Markle told TMZ.

Markle Sr. and his ex-wife, Doria Ragland, Markle's mom, are the only two of Markle's family members invited to her wedding. Apparently spending 20 minutes on the computer reading news stories about the pair, the photographs were later distributed to global media.

What time does the Royal wedding start?

Ms Markle has two paternal half-siblings, Ms Grant and Thomas Markle Jr. Reports further cited that Thomas was planning on getting out of the hospital and attending his daughter's wedding but then backed out as it was revealed that he had been involved in staged paparazzi photoshoots. Markle is reportedly said to be devastated at the prospect that her father might not attend her wedding.

His son told the Daily Mail: "He's pretty happy about Harry and he's extremely proud of her".

Mr Markle has admitted to colluding with agency Coleman Rayner for the staged pictures.

He said his daughter "harbours no ill feelings toward him". Well, Thomas wants everyone to know that the photo staging was "not principally about money", but rather, because he's recently been "ambushed by paparazzi who have photographed him in the most unflattering circumstances". He's especially upset that they made him look like a lush.

Thomas, who retired to Rosarito, Mexico, was supposed to be flying to London this week to meet the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla, Wills and Kate at a lunch ahead of the ceremony.

That narrative appeared to follow the "rags to riches" story surrounding Meghan's rise to royalty - despite her coming from a financially stable American family.

"I have to say I am entirely the culprit".

In the early days when Meghan would come to stay at the palace, she was met by guards who would take her bags.

"It's safe to say I have always been a daddy's girl he taught me how to fish, to appreciate Busby Berkeley films, write thank-you notes, and spend my weekends in Little Tokyo eating chicken teriyaki with vegetable tempura". "The media was unfairly making him look bad so I suggested he do positive photos for his benefit and the benefit of the royal family", she tweeted on her private account Monday.

Markle, 36, has not responded to the scandal directly, but the palace pleaded for privacy.

Kensington Palace on Monday said Meghan Markle was suffering a "deeply personal moment" following reports her father would not attend her wedding to Prince Harry on the weekend. "She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr Markle in this hard situation", a Kensington Palace statement said.
