Lois Riess on the Run: Authorities Ramp Up Search for Alleged Look-Alike Killer

Authorities have arrested fugitive Lois Riess Thursday night on South Padre Island, Texas.

Lois Riess is wanted for the murders of her husband in Minnesota last month and a woman in Fort Myers Beach last week.

A nationwide manhunt has been underway for Reiss after her husband in Minnesota was found shot to death back in March. That puts her among high-profile offenders considered to be some of the country's most unsafe individuals. She was reportedly facing $100,500 in debt at the time of the murder.

Lee County Undersheriff Carmine Marceno says that although Riess "may look like anyone's mother or grandmother, she's an absolute cold-blooded murderer".

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office has released a surveillance video obtained by investigators from the Kum and Go gas station in Northwood, Iowa in hopes of triggering leads to Lois Riess' whereabouts.

The Florida woman found shot dead in her rented condo in Fort Myers Beach had paid for her killer's drinks and dinner just hours before.

In describing an April 9 search of Hutchinson's condo, he said, "Ms. Hutchinson's purse was found to be in disarray and all cash, credit cards and identification appeared to have been removed". It's clear when Riess checked into the hotel, but police in the North Central Florida town say she is no longer there. Hutchinson's ID, credit cards and vehicle were missing from her home. Hutchinson's drivers license, credit cards and auto were missing. Riess was also allegedly wearing Hutchinson's hat.

Prosecutors were preparing second-degree murder charges in the David Riess case. The video was taken from March 23 at about 6:30 p.m.

Three surveillance videos from a hotel in Ocala, Florida also show the Acura driving in the parking lot as well as Riess walking around inside the hotel and walking up to the hotel counter.

Hutchinson's friends said she was visiting Fort Myers Beach to help friends spread the ashes of another friend.
