Former Eagles CB Worley charged with multiple offenses

Eagles release defensive back Daryl Worley after he was found passed out inside vehicle blocking highway

Worley, a third-round pick in 2016, started 25 games in the past two seasons for the Panthers.

Daryl Worley was charged after he was arrested Sunday morning. He is alleged to have begun fighting with officers who woke him and police used a taser to subdue him, a source close to the situation said, confirming an NFL Network report.

The Super Bowl champions traded wide receiver Torrey Smith to the Carolina Panthers for Worley in March.

Former star West Virginia cornerback Daryl Worley, who was released by the Philadelphia Eagles after being arrested early Sunday morning, faces DUI, weapons and disorderly conduct charges, according to a report by the Philadelphia Inquirer's Les Bowen.

The Eagles opened their offseason training program Monday.

7 inmates killed in "incident" at maximum security SC prison
A sign in front of the Lee Correctional Institution in Bishopville, South Carolina, is seen in this image from Google Maps. The South Carolina Department of Corrections first posted about the "ongoing situation" late Sunday night.

The football player was passed out in his vehicle Sunday morning near the teams' practice facility in South Philadelphia. Philadelphia did not absorb a financial penalty by cutting Worley and saved $670,000 against the salary cap. A gun was also reportedly found at the scene.

More details have emerged about Worley's arrest on Sunday that led to the Eagles ultimately deciding to move on from a player they had just acquired last month in a trade with the Carolina Panthers.

The Eagles released Worley hours after his arrest.

The charge includes "intentionally and knowingly causing bodily injury to a person 65 years or older".
