'Slippery' Comey was 'worst Federal Bureau of Investigation director in history'

Yuri Gripas Reuters
House Speaker Paul Ryan announced Wednesday that he will not seek re-election after months of rumors to that effect

According to The Washington Post, Comey writes that the president told him: "I'm a germaphobe".

Trump's tweet storm comes ahead of a highly anticipated interview with Comey on ABC News to be broadcast on Sunday night.

The attack on Twitter was essentially a continuation of Trump's tweets Friday, when he called Comey "a proven LEAKER & LIAR" and a "untruthful slime ball".

The president also seemed to be responding to the FBI raid on and court-authorized search of the office of his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, who authorities said has been under criminal investigation for months.

Comey's book "A Higher Loyalty", details his conversations with the President, mocks Trump's appearance, and slams the "forest fire that is the Trump presidency". "I think he should be left to do his job, and I don't think they're really contemplating this".

Trump has said he fired Comey because of his handling of the FBI's investigation into Clinton's email practices.

Going by the trends and DJ Khaled's mid-performance announcement, this year's festival has been nicknamed as "Beychella". Beyonc's fans, known as the BeyHive, have waited to see her perform since last year's Grammy Awards.

The full interview with Comey will be released on Sunday. Comey's blockbuster book and accompanying media tour, which kicks off in primetime on Sunday, will also expose him to the watchful eye of Trump allies and defense lawyers ready to exploit any inconsistencies in his accounts to their clients' benefit. A story from Sinclair's CBS12 in West Palm Beach, Florida, embedded Trump's tweets and a clip from Fox News of White House adviser Kellyanne Conway describing Comey as "a disgruntled ex-employee".

But it was the Cheney-Addington showdown that established Comey's independence in the minds of many in Washington, D.C. It also appears to have impressed the man who would become the next president, Barack Obama.

"The president said, 'I need loyalty, I expect loyalty.' I didn't move, speak, or change my facial expression in any way during the awkward silence that followed". In a Monmouth University poll last May, the numbers were almost identical with 10% of Democrats approving of Trump's to fire Comey compared with 74% of Republicans. In this view, Comey is an ego-driven false martyr, not only bitter and vengeful but downright corrupt - a sellout to the Democrats who have refused to accept their loss or Trump's triumph in 2016. Ryan said, however, he had met Comey only a few times.

Although the Federal Bureau of Investigation ultimately decided not to refer Clinton's case for prosecution, Democrats said Comey's announcement damaged her with voters right before the election, and he faced complaints that his moves were politically motivated.

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told CNN he had "every confidence" in the accuracy of Comey's book.

Todd asked, "Would you take him at his word?"
