Eagles' Daryl Worley Arrested After Altercation With Officers

Report: Eagles CB Daryl Worley arrested

Officers used a taser on Worley after becoming "combative with police", according to NFL Network.

Given the report that Worley was passed out in a vehicle blocking traffic at six in the morning it's not hard to imagine he was out late partying before the incident took place.

The incident occurred near the Eagles' facility on Broad and Patterson street according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. A gun was also recovered during the arrest.

It is not yet clear why Worley, who is a Philly native, was arrested.

Worley, 23, was selected by the Panthers in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft but was traded to the Eagles for wide receiver Torrey Smith last month. Worley played in 16 games and started 11 as a rookie, recording one interception and nine passes defensed.

In college, Worley pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault over an incident involving a woman at a night club.

The Eagles confirmed his arrest, saying in a statement that they were "gathering more information". Worley said then that he was defending his girlfriend.
