76ers' Embiid: 'Pretty good chance' I'll play in Game 2 or 3

Can anyone stop the Warriors winning again

The No. 3 seed Philadelphia 76ers cruised to a win over the No. 6 Miami Heat, 130-103, on Saturday, April 14, in the opening day of the 2018 NBA Playoffs. That's exactly the opposite of what the slow-mo Heat want on the road. Ilyasova buried a 3-pointer to make it 79-66 with 4:30 left before the 76ers took the 12-point lead into the final quarter.

The 76ers were 18 of 28 from 3-point range.

J.J. Redick led the Sixers in scoring with 28 points (four three-pointers) and Marco Belinelli, a late addition to the roster after the Hawks bought out his contract in February and Philadelphia signed shortly after, added 25 points (four three-pointers) off the bench.

The Heat have countered with a successful balanced attack, led by Kelly Olynyk (14 points) and James Johnson (13 points).

The Toronto Raptors edged a tight game against the Washington Wizards 114-106, with Serge Ibaka having 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Anthony Davis had 35 points as the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Portland Trail Blazers 97-95.

This was the second March for Science, which debuted a year ago as part of more than 600 coordinated events across the planet. The march started at the Barry Events Center and ended at the Marquette Commons with a rally.

Game 2 is Monday in Philadelphia.

The 76ers were forced to play without their best player, center Joel Embiid.

After grinding through a chippy, at times plodding, first half played primarily in the half court, the Sixers recaptured the form they routinely showed throughout their historic regular-season ending winning streak. The rookie point man cranked out 17 points (5-13 fg, 7-10 ft), 14 assists, and nine rebounds. Then Philly rebounded and stayed neck and neck with Miami until the Heat took a 60-56 lead into halftime.

Miami held Philadelphia to 38.9 percent shooting in the first half.
