Stephen Hawking's last paper rekindles the existence of multiverse

Stephen Hawking Foundation trustee dismisses Union minister Harsh Vardhan's claims, reports The Telegraph

Titled "A Smooth Exit from Eternal Inflation", it focuses on the existence of a multiverse and the methods that could be used to detect it. Hawking believed that a device affixed to a spaceship could prove the existence of other universes sprouting from the same Big Bang as ours.

According to The Sunday Times newspaper, the paper is due to be published by an unnamed "leading journal" after a review is complete. According to the research, the universe will come to an end when stars run out of energy. If this plan had been put into action and evidence had been found, while he was still alive, there's a good chance it would have landed a coveted Nobel Prize. The problem for Hawking was that the theory also predicted that "our" Big Bang was accompanied by an infinite number of others, each producing a separate universe. Hawking's and Professor James Hartle together had worked on "no boundary theory" in 1983, where they have described how the Earth dashed into existence during the Big Bang.

The theory is titled A Smooth Exit from External Inflation, and it is now being reviewed by a leading scientific journal.

However, since Nobel Prizes can not be awarded posthumously, Hawking would be ineligible to receive it.

Even with the accurate calculations, the technology present now is unable to unravel the existence of parallel universes which is a well-renowned theory.

"This was Stephen: to boldly go where Star Trek fears to tread", Thomas Hertog, professor of theoretical physics at KU Leuven University in Belgium, who co-authored the paper, told The Sunday Times.

"The intriguing idea in Hawking's paper is that [the universe] left its imprint on the background radiation permeating our universe and we could measure it with a detector on a spaceship."

Hawking's friend, cosmologist, astrophysicist and astronomer Royal Professor Martin Rees also dismissed knowing any such theory.

Stephen Hawking, a great theoretical physicist never won any Nobel Prize for his theories.
