Red Cross in need of blood donations

Red Cross Month is a celebration of supporters, who are the face of the Red Cross in their communities and bring hope to people facing emergencies.

The Red Cross is hosting a blood drive that will continue through the end of February because it's in need of blood.

The Red Cross told WAAY 31 Monday, they're looking for all types of blood but O+ and O- are needed the most.

So far in 2018, severe winter weather has forced about 600 blood drives to cancel, resulting in more than 17,500 uncollected blood and platelet donations.
