Olympic Slovenian Hockey Player Tests Positive For Banned Substance

Slovenian men's ice hockey player Ziga Jeglic has been suspended for the remainder of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, after testing positive for banned substance fenoterol.

Slovenian ice hockey player Žiga Jeglič has become the third athlete to fail a drug test during the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games, it has been announced.

The 29-year-old was tested positive for banned substance "fenoterol", which is a drug created to open the airways to the lungs.

Jeglic, who scored the shootout victor against Slovakia on Saturday, had failed an in-competition test and the final decision on his sanction would come after the end of the Games, CAS said.

Japanese short-track speedskater Kei Saito failed a pre-competition test in Pyeongchang and Russian curler Alexander Krushelnitsky, who won a bronze medal, tested positive during the games.

They lost 8-2 in their other game to the Olympic Athletes from Russian Federation.
