Klay Thompson finishes second in Three-Point Contest

Well, Devin Booker didn't quite get to 70 again in L.A. on Saturday night, but the Phoenix Suns dynamo still poured in more than enough points to earn the first JBL 3-Point Contest crown of his young career.

It was Booker's performance on the money balls that allowed him to set a new record for total points, surpassing the 27-point mark held by both Steph Curry and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors. Four racks contain four orange balls (each worth one point) and one multicolored "money" ball (worth two points). The other finalist, the Clippers' Tobias Harris, earned a score of 17 points.

Booker hit 20 out of his 30 shot attempts, while knocking down four of the five shots on his money ball rack.

Booker, the 21-year-old in his third season with Phoenix, is averaging 24.2 points per game this season as the NBA's 12th-leading scorer. Last season he was the runner-up in the skills challenge.

Dinwiddie, who played at Taft High in the Woodland Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, beat Lauri Markkanen of the Chicago Bulls in the final round. Dinwiddie dribbled down the floor and missed his first 3 but drained the next one to win.
