Smashing Pumpkins' D'arcy Wretzky Reveals Billy Corgan Text Messages
The Smashing Pumpkins star is embroiled in a bitter row with the band's former bassist, after it emerged she would not be part of an expected reunion. "But it's not for a lack of trying", read the statement to The Associated Press.
Wretzky also claims that she and Corgan were "never friends", and said any time in the studio with the band was "a fucking nightmare".
Today (Feb. 14), the first real interview with Wretzky in 20 years has been published by Alternative Nation, and she pulls no punches, attacking Corgan for being "incredibly abusive" in the past and adding that he "loved to humiliate people and shame people in front of other people".
"He's never invited me to anything".

News website MailOnline and the Press Association news service said the incident involved a suspect package. An unnamed police officer in Speaker's Court in Parliament said a suspicious package has been found.
D'Arcy then fired back in a revealing interview with Alternative Nation, where she said "He says that he's invited me to come out and play for all of these things, which is a complete lie". Her comments contradict a statement issued by the group which stated D'arcy had been, "invited out to play with the group, participate in demo sessions, or at the very least, meet face-to-face, and in each and every instance she always deferred". "Finally Billy says that what I deserve is a T-shirt w/my face on it. In fact, my feelings were a little bit hurt because he did the solo album tour, and he didn't tell me when it started". "The day after the tour, I had tried to quit two or three times, but it's hard to do when you have everybody, my husband, my family, telling me, 'No, no, just wait until the next record'".
Speaking about the text messages on Facebook, Wretzky says, "If one takes the time to read it carefully, one will notice that as the conversation continues, the roll I'm offered becomes ever smaller. He thinks it's a privilege for anyone to be in his presence, so therefore he shouldn't have to tell me, and I shouldn't have to be invited". Last month D'arcy said: My apologies to all of the Smashing Pumpkins fans out there who are excited about this oncoming reunion tour of the original members of the band.
As for her personal opinion of Corgan, she says: "Everyone said he changed since he had a kid, and he can be very charming, and fun". He called me, and I was thinking he wanted to talk to me, and he was thought I wanted to talk to him. "The stress was so much that I had a miscarriage". What? The shapeshifting thing? I honestly think he may have a brain tumour.
The lengthy interview also finds Wretzky recalling her departure from the group, her struggles with mental illness, her alleged drug use and what she's been up to in the years since leaving the band. "He's always been insufferable".
