Flynn the bichon frisé was crowned Best in Show at the 142nd Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Tuesday night. The remaining three challengers will be from the working, sporting and terrier groups, whose winners were set to be picked on Tuesday.

McFadden also added that Flynn will likely retire from the dog show circuit following his win. After reviewing the dogs before her, the famed breeder and exhibitor decided it was Flynn, a Bichon Frise from the non-sporting group that was Best in Show A giant Schnauzer named Ty was named Reserve Best in Show.

"It feels a little unreal", Fynn's expert handler Bill McFadden said. This was the handler's second best in show after winning with Mick the Kerry blue terrier in 2003.

The diminutive, fluffy white victor edged out six other finalists, including the No. 2 Reserve Best in Show, a giant schnauzer named Ty, at the end of the annual two-day event at Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan. Slick, a border collie, won the herding group, the third straight year he's earned a ribbon at this event, according to USA Today. His co-owner, Sandra Nordstrom, is from Ocean City and he is handled by Katie Bernardin of Chaplin, Connecticut.

"I like to watch the humans who participate in it", Kimmel said.

The loudest laughs went to Bean, a Sussex Spaniel which frequently interrupted its stride to recline on its posterior in exchange for a treat, a ritual that its handler said is characteristic of the breed.
