On their way to Key West, Tanner Broadwell and Nikki Walsh's voyage abruptly ended in John's Pass off Madeira Beach, Fla., when their 28-foot sailboat struck something underwater Wednesday night.
A Colorado couple's plans didn't turn out exactly like they'd hoped after they sold everything they owned to purchase a sailboat and travel together when the boat crashed on their trip, USA Today reports.

Once Sea Tow finally arrived, their ship was already immersed in close to 10 feet of water, and ready capsize.
"We have a lot of family helping us, but it's hard when you've lost everything", Walsh told The Post from Jacksonville, where the couple is staying with loved ones.
"How can we live our lives when we're working most of the day and you have to pay so much just to live?"
It was dark and the fog had rolled in to the uncharted waters for Broadwell and Walsh, and now their cabin was flooding more and more.
"The boat sank, but our dreams didn't sink with the boat", said Walsh. After about 30 miles, they ran into trouble in a channel of water called John's Pass, near Madeira Beach. Plus, they think their navigational maps didn't account for channel changes after Hurricane Irma.
