Republican candidate suspended from Twitter after posting racist Meghan Markle photo

Meghan Markle and prince Harry

The Cheddar Man skeleton was unveiled earlier in the week and noted that the earliest Britons were likely dark skinned with blue eyes and curly hair.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

With the Cheddar Man a hot topic in social media, Nehlen jumped on the subject with disastrous results. He wrote on his Twitter account, "Oh @pnehlen - you're a sad and sick man with no sense of shame or class. Get a life".

Markle and Adams became good friends when they work together on TV legal drama, "Suits".

Twitter has suspended the account of alt-right GOP candidate Paul Nehlen after he was accused of racism for a tweet about Meghan Markle, fiancée of British royal Prince Harry. Reports indicate that Nehlen's post has encouraged racist tweets from other users who also superimposed photos of apes onto Markle's face.

Nehlen has been described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as "a defiant mouthpiece for the racist "alt-right", and in Janaury was suspended from Twitter for a week for violating rules banning anti-Semitic content.

ANC executive to meet as pressure mounts on Jacob Zuma to resign
At 0631 GMT, the rand traded at 11.9300 per dollar, 0.58 percent firmer than Friday's close of 12.0000. Ramaphosa said the ANC's top executives will meet Monday to finalize discussions on Zuma's resignation.

"Of those 81 people, 74 are Jews, while only 7 are non-Jews", he wrote, also posting the Twitter accounts' phone numbers.

The reason for the suspension is now unclear, and Nehlen has not yet spoken out about it on Facebook, his other primary means of communication.

In a series of postings on his Facebook account late Sunday under the #ShallNotCensor hashtag, Nehlen seemed to allude to the suspension.

Meghan, who is mixed-race, has received a torrent of racially-motivated abuse since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry.

Before his Twitter account was suspended over the controversy, Nehlen responded to the negative reaction with an explanation for his behavior.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace declined to comment. The two are set to get married on May 19 at the Windsor Castle.
