The actress is now riding high o success of her latest onscreen outing Padmaavat for which she has been basking in accolades and awe from across the world. In its first and second weeks, the film earned Rs 159.47 crore and Rs 64.75 crore approximately. The film, which had released on January 25 after much discussions and deliberations, has proved that nothing can prevent the audience if they really have their hearts set upon watching a film.

"Hikes are the order of the day when you deliver a box office hit". Following Padmaavat close on its heels, Chennai Express earned Rs 227.13 crore. Lead actress Deepika Padukone also received the threats, however, the cast and crew along with the entire film industry stood in unison for the sake of creative liberty. People are calling this film Deepika's Mother India as it is the first film in the history of Indian cinema to get this kind of collections with a female leading it. Deepika Padukone's career has taken a million miles after this film.
