Years After Roe v. Wade: The Battle for Abortion Access Continues

Anti-abortion Tennesseans to participate in annual March for Life

Because, in fact, only a minority of Americans believe that abortion should be illegal in all circumstances.

Many marchers, carrying signs with slogans such as "Pray to end abortion", said they were excited to hear from a president they see as an ally, but hesitated to point to any specific advancements in their agenda from Trump's first year in office.

Roughly 90 people congregated Saturday at the Park County Courthouse to mark the 45th anniversary of the Roe V. Wade Supreme Court decision, organizers said.

The theme of this year's "March for Life" was "Love Saves Lives". In a more telling statistic, 7 out of 10 disagreed that their decision "was entirely free from even subtle pressure from others to abort". "I realize that we as women still have a collective voice that can not be silenced by any president politician or policy".

At the rally - one of the largest anti-abortion gatherings in the country, House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., credited God for Trump's election, saying: "Can we just thank God for giving us a pro-life president back in the White House?" In her current work through "Civil Rights for the Unborn", Ms. King reveals that abortion is the No. 1 killer of blacks.

The organizers of and participants in the "March for Life" make no bones about their goals. "We have 17,000 fewer abortions in Kansas because of what you have done", he told the crowd. In France, abortion is unrestricted up to 12 weeks and requires the approval of two physicians after that. She says without the facility more women will look for other means of abortions that are risky. While Planned Parenthood aborted more than 300,000 unborn babies in 2016, the organization handed out only 2,889 adoption referrals - roughly one adoption referral for every 114 abortions.

"Paying for abortion on our insurance with our premiums and our money is unacceptable", said state Sen.

Historically, Yoder said, the networks have shied away from covering the pro-life movement. Thirteen states had laws permitting legal abortion in certain circumstances. They are medical providers who, often at the risk of their livelihood, conscientiously refuse to participate in abortions.

More than 100,000 attended the 45th March for Life in Washington while more than a million attended the Women's March in cities across the country.

"In the pro-choice movement, the conversation tended to center on just abortion rights", Gaylon said. It's been under constant attack since becoming law in 1973, and might be facing its greatest threat now: Last week, the Trump administration announced a new division in the Department of Health and Human Services devoted to protecting health-care professionals who refused to perform abortions on moral or religious grounds. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has called the decision, "heavy-handed judicial activism", according to the Washington Examiner newspaper.

Leach, who participated with the Prestonwood group, noted she can not march and then walk away.

The students and young adults from Church at the Cross understand they have the "power and influence" of social media for reaching their peers with the pro-life message, said Nathaniel Ortiz, a senior homeschool student. All the rest prohibited abortion, except to save the life of the pregnant woman.

Ortiz, Moyer and Hannah Webber, a college freshman, agreed that they will earn an audience with their ideological opponents when their pro-choice peers see their compassion for humanity extends beyond the womb.

The president went on to say, "This is why we observe National Sanctity of Human Life Day - to affirm the truth that all life is sacred, that every person has worth and that no class of people should ever be discarded as 'non-human'". I had absolutely no idea who I was dealing with or what kind of people they were, so I was terrified.
