Trump rejects 'horrible' bipartisan plan for immigration

Ronny Jackson said he administered the Montreal Cognitive Assessment during Trump's physical exam Friday afternoon at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and said the president achieved a score of 30 points.

Jackson received an urgent letter from dozens of doctors and health professionals Thursday urging him to perform basic mental health tests on the President.

"I think a reasonable goal over the next year or so would be to lose 10 to 15 pounds", Jackson said.

CNN chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta said Jackson's information indicated that the President, like most men of his age, has a common form of heart disease. Their letter expressed concerns about Trump's "suspect judgment, planning, problem solving and impulse control", among other issues.

The test did not assess his psychiatric fitness and his doctor said he didn't undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Dr. Ronny Jackson - who also worked with the previous administration, and was praised in social media by former Barack Obama staff - said he never doubted this president's cognitive ability. Trump responded to the criticism by calling himself a "very stable genius".

Dr Jackson, who speaks with Mr Trump a few times a day and travels with him, said he did not think the USA president needed cognitive testing based on medical guidelines - but added the 30-question Montreal Cognitive Assessment at Mr Trump's request. If you do well on it, I think anything above 26 is normal.

Trump has claimed that exercise is bad because people are born with a finite amount of energy and that exercise needlessly wastes it.

"I told the President that if he had a healthier diet over the last 20 years he might live to be 200 years old", Jackson said, eliciting laughter from reporters. And what they mean by that is he has a need for immediate gratification.

"I can reliably say and the folks in the mental health community would back me up on that, that if he had some type of mental cognitive issue that this test is sensitive enough to pick up on that", he told reporters. "He actively asked me to include that in it, and so we did".

He also stressed Trump's diet and exercise will be addressed in the upcoming year, adding "he asked me to get the nutritionist involved, which has given me permission to become involved in that, and I will", he said.

"It's critical that significant resistance exercise be incorporated into any fat loss plan over age 60", said Dr. Robert Huizenga, who appeared on NBC's, The Biggest Loser.

Jackson said the president enjoyed good health despite a subpar diet and no exercise routine. "Overall, he has very, very good health", Jackson said.

"Standing at 75 inches tall, or 6' 2.5", and weighing in at 239 pounds, Trump's weight places him at a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30.3, or, if his height is rounded up to 6' 3", 29.9.
