Trump Again Waives Iran Sanctions

The decision, first reported by the Associated Press, keeps the United States in the Iran deal, at least for the time being, despite Trump's suggestion a year ago that he was inclined to walk away from it.

Iran said on Saturday it would not accept any changes to its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

"But, once again, after yesterday's statements future of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action [on the Iranian nuclear program] is under a big question", he added.

With no solution yet forthcoming from Congress Mr Trump on Friday reluctantly extended a waiver on the nuclear-related sanctions.

Although he tips off European associates that he would pull out of the contract unless its awful flaws are right.

In a statement, the president said, "This is a last chance".

The Treasury Department also announced on Friday that sanctions would be leveled against 14 individuals and entities in Iran that are connected to "serious human rights abuses and censorship in Iran" as well as Iran's missile program.

A report this week by analysts at the NY financial services company Citigroup said any move to weaken the nuclear deal would cause the "dislocation of at least 500,000 barrels a day of Iranian crude oil exports, especially those going to Korea and Japan, as well as to some European countries", according to CNBC.

A senior administration official said Mr Trump wants the 2015 Iran deal strengthened with a follow-on agreement before the 120 days are up, or the United States will unilaterally withdraw from the global pact.

Lenovo is likely the most high profile name making a device for the platform, but JBL is throwing their hat in the ring, too. Lenovo also included a base stand which lets users display the device either horizontally or vertically.

Iran rejects Trump's demand for changing nuclear deal
Additionally, the Treasury Department imposed new measures that target Iranian businesses and individuals for human rights abuses. USA and other officials have complained that Iran's ballistic-missile program can easily be converted for nuclear use.

France demands United Nations protection for baguette
In his interview with Europe 1, Macron linked this proposal to the successful UNESCO bid by Neapolitan pizza makers a year ago . Now, with Mr Macron's declared support, the bid for UNESCO status is likely to begin in earnest.

The Treasury Department's action hits 14 Iranian officials and companies and businessmen from Iran, China and Malaysia, freezing any assets they have in the United States and banning Americans from doing business with them.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker has been working on amending a United States law to include "trigger points" that if crossed by Iran would automatically bring back USA sanctions.

A decision to withhold a waiver would have effectively ended the deal that limits Iran's nuclear program.

French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the importance of abiding by the deal "in order to guarantee better stability in the Middle East", according to a readout of his telephone conversation with Trump on Thursday. Or it could keep its end of the bargain and continue doing business with other countries in the deal - France, Germany, China and Russian Federation - and isolate the U.S.

However, the US imposed fresh sanctions on 14 individuals and entities over alleged human rights abuses.

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) didn't like the idea of waiving Iran's nuclear sanctions.

The senior official said that Trump seeks a multilateral deal not negotiated with Iran at the table, but with European nations willing to set "triggers" for additional sanctions on Tehran upon the sunset of critical provisions of the 2015 accord.

As the tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to rise, a senior Iranian official said that his country will continue to develop ballistic missiles.
