Vuzix introduces new 'smart glasses' that will work with the Alexa app

Amazon's Alexa has been helpful in our homes the last couple of years and now she's ready to give us a hand in our cars as well. It is also expected to have a wide range of capabilities, including displaying weather information to the field of view of the user. The Company has won Consumer Electronics Show (or CES) awards for innovation for the years 2005 to 2018 and several wireless technology innovation awards among others.

After reaching a large number of smartphones and some smart speakers, Amazon is now set to bring its Alexa voice assistant to various portable, on-the-go devices. The Vuzix Blade AR glasses were showcased this week at CES. So for those who do not have an account yet but are already planning to purchase the smart glasses, there is still time.

Vuzix Chief Executive Officer Paul Travers said that his Company will release its AR glasses by the second quarter at a cost of about US$1,000, Travers said. Sound pricey? It is, but interestingly, Vuzix Chief Executive Officer Paul Travers has said they're looking to get the price down to $500 Dollars by 2019.

The launch of the Alexa-enabled AR glasses would surely be a game changer in the industry.
